Daily Check-In Call is a phone call. Your assistant calls you for five minutes, or you call it: what you worked today, who you quoted and for how much, what changed on an account, what you promised someone. It writes it all down against the right accounts, texts you a recap, and proposes any follow-up actions for you to approve. Find it under Tactics → Daily Check-In Call.

Before you start

Two phone numbers are needed and neither is a mailbox: your inbox does not have to be connected.
  1. Your mobile. Add it under Assistant Settings → General → Mobile number. Only this number can reach your assistant.
  2. Your check-in number. A workspace phone number an admin adds under Integrations → Phone Numbers. Pick it under Call setup below. Each number belongs to one person at a time.

When it runs

At Call at on the Days you pick, in your timezone. The default is 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. If you do not answer, it tries once more five minutes later, then texts you: “Missed you, anything worth logging today? Call me back any time.” You can also call your check-in number yourself whenever something is worth logging, after a site visit or at ten at night. There is no Run now button, because a call is a real interruption; use Call me now to test under Call setup instead.

What you get

  1. The call, from your check-in number to your mobile.
  2. Facts logged against the right accounts: quotes, losses, promises, changes. No approval needed for the writing-down.
  3. A text recap minutes later, starting Logged from your call, 4:12 PM, one line per account, with a link to fix anything. Tap any line on the recap page to edit or remove it; deleting a line removes the record it created.
  4. A second text when the call produced suggestions: “Your assistant suggests 2 actions from today’s call. Say yes or no here.”

The page

  • Activity is a month calendar of calls with Calls, Answered, Things logged and Talk time. Open a day to see What was logged, Suggested actions, The conversation (the full transcript), the Recording, the Handoff to the next call, and What it walked in with (what was open from last time, what was already answered by email).
  • Approvals is one queue across every call. Approve or Approve all runs an action as you, with your permissions: it can only do what you could do in Emanate yourself. Dismiss what you do not want. Things marked done on the call already ran.
  • Insights checks your promises against your mailbox: Went out, Nothing yet or Couldn’t confirm.
Nothing is sent on your behalf. The call, the logging and the texts to you happen on their own; every action your assistant suggests waits for your yes unless you turn on Run suggested actions without asking. Putting someone into a sequence that is already running starts their emails, so the approvals page says so before you press it.
