Step 1: Business DNA Setup
Business DNA is the foundation of all your AI agents. It ensures every agent interaction feels authentic to your brand.
Navigate to Settings → Business DNA
Enter your company website URL
Click Extract Brand
Emanate automatically extracts:
Field Description Business Name Your company name Tagline Main value proposition Industry Business category Products/Services What you sell Target Audience Who you serve Brand Colors Visual identity Tone & Style Communication style
Manual Refinement
After extraction, review and refine:
Business Overview : Edit the company description for accuracy
Products/Services : Add or remove items
Brand Values : Adjust the extracted values
Visual Styles : Confirm color palette
Take time to refine the Business DNA — this context shapes how every agent communicates and significantly impacts conversation quality.
Agent Context
Configure how agents should represent your company:
Tone : Professional, friendly, technical, casual
Personality : Helpful, consultative, direct
Boundaries : Topics to avoid, escalation triggers
Step 2: Knowledge Base Setup
After your Business DNA is configured, import your company documents and spreadsheets into the Knowledge Base. This gives your agents the product knowledge they need before you start building them.
Navigate to Knowledge Base
Upload documents in the Agent Files tab:
Product catalogs and spec sheets (PDF, Word)
FAQs and support documents
Sales materials and pricing guides
Import spreadsheets in the AI Data Import tab:
Product lists and inventory data (Excel, CSV)
Pricing tables
Customer or contact data
The AI Data Import wizard will automatically classify your spreadsheet data, let you map columns, and track import progress.
Import your most important files first — product catalog, pricing guide, and FAQ. You can always add more documents later.
Step 3: Agent Creation

Voice Agent Setup
Basic Info
Name your agent
Write a first message (greeting)
Define the agent’s instructions and behavior
Model Configuration
Select an AI model from the available options
Adjust the creativity level (a balanced setting is recommended for conversations)
Voice Configuration
Browse and preview available voices
Select a voice that fits your brand
Configure speech settings
Knowledge Base
Upload product documents
Add FAQ content
Include sales materials
Custom Actions

Chat Agent Setup

Step 4: Integration Setup
CRM Integration
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → CRM
Click Connect CRM
Follow the authorization steps to connect your CRM
Configure field mappings:
Lead fields → CRM contact fields
Company fields → CRM account fields
Lead Enrichment
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Lead Enrichment
Connect your enrichment account
Configure enrichment settings:
Auto-enrich on lead capture
Fields to enrich (title, company, LinkedIn)
Email Notifications
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Email
Connect your email service
Configure email templates for:
Lead notifications
Meeting confirmations
Follow-up sequences
Step 5: Team Onboarding
Invite Team Members
Navigate to Settings → Team
Click Invite Member
Enter email addresses
Assign roles
Role Permissions
