Sequences are Emanate’s outbound cadence engine. They let you build reusable outreach flows, enroll leads into them, and move each lead through an ordered series of touches across email, LinkedIn, waits, simple conditions, and manual steps.
Sequences V1 focuses on LinkedIn and email outreach. Voice steps are intentionally out of scope and still belong in Campaigns.

What You Can Do With Sequences

  • Start from templates or describe the campaign in chat
  • Personalize outreach with lead data, org context, knowledge-base context, and custom variables
  • Preview the sequence before launch
  • Track enrollments, replies, opens, and per-step completion

Sequence Lifecycle

Build

Start from a template or describe your outreach goal in chat. The builder uses your business context and knowledge base to draft the sequence.

Configure

Choose the send window, timezone, daily email cap, stop rules, sending inbox, LinkedIn account, and custom variables.

Test

Preview rendered steps and confirm the copy, variables, and personalization before launch.

Activate

Activate the sequence when the structure and settings look right.

Enroll

Add leads from the sequence detail page or from the Leads table.

Execute

A background worker checks due enrollments every 5 minutes, executes the current step, logs activity, and advances the lead.

Track

Monitor high-level metrics, per-step funnel performance, lead progress, replies, and email opens.

Supported Step Types

Step TypeWhat it does
EmailSends outreach from the connected inbox. Email steps can use variables and optional AI personalization at send time.
LinkedInPerforms LinkedIn outreach actions such as warming up a profile, sending a connection request, or following up through LinkedIn.
WaitDelays the next touch so the sequence can space outreach over time.
ConditionAdds lightweight branching or gating between steps.
ManualCreates a lightweight task activity and then advances the enrollment. Use it for simple human checkpoints, not a full task workflow.

AI-Assisted Building and Personalization

  • Start from a template or describe the campaign in chat
  • The builder uses your org’s business context and knowledge-base context to draft steps and copy
  • Generated sequences are currently V1 no-voice
  • Email steps can optionally use AI personalization at send time to lightly tailor copy for each lead. Today, that light rewrite is powered by GPT-5.4.

Managed Email Signatures

Every email step now uses a managed signature that is shared with Email Campaigns — set once on the Email Settings page and applied automatically to every send.

Edit the signature once and every active and draft sequence picks up the change on the next send — no need to republish or duplicate sequences to roll out a new signature.

Enrollment and Execution

When you enroll leads, Emanate validates them, creates sequence enrollments, and schedules the first step. After that, execution is automatic.
  • Due enrollments are checked every 5 minutes
  • Each execution logs activity for the step that ran
  • Waits and conditions determine when a lead becomes due again
  • Reply and bounce rules can stop the sequence for a lead automatically

Testing and Tracking

Before launch, use Preview & Test to inspect the sequence safely. After activation, use the sequence detail views to monitor:
  • Total enrolled, active, completed, and reply rate
  • Step funnel counts
  • Each lead’s current step and overall progress
  • Email opens tracked through the open pixel

Current Boundaries

  • Structural step edits are blocked once leads are already enrolled. Finalize the step order before putting leads in flight.
  • Manual steps are intentionally lightweight in V1. They create activity records instead of a richer human task workflow.
  • Sequences are designed for cold outbound email and LinkedIn cadences, not voice outreach.
