Step Types
Templates support three outreach step types that you can mix and match within a single template:Building Your Steps
When you create a template, you define each step’s content and the delay between steps (e.g., send step 2 three days after step 1). A typical multi-channel sequence might look like this:
You can add, remove, or reorder steps in the template editor before assigning contacts.
Using Variables in Templates
Templates support variables like contact name, company name, and sender name so your outreach feels personal at scale. Variables are displayed in the editor when you write or paste content. If a variable cannot be resolved for a specific contact (for example, a missing first name), Emanate flags it before the sequence sends so you can fix it.Channel Considerations
- Sends through your connected Gmail inbox on your own domain
- Emanate enforces daily send limits per inbox to protect deliverability
- Regular DMARC checks monitor domain health
- Use a domain you have already warmed up for best results
LinkedIn connection request
- An optional note can be attached, subject to LinkedIn’s character limits
- LinkedIn enforces a hard cap of ~100/week (up to ~200/week with Sales Navigator Advanced)
- Sequences that include connection requests should be paced accordingly. See Queue & Send Limits
LinkedIn message
- Only sends to contacts you are already connected with
- Lower risk than connection requests since these go to existing connections
- Useful as a follow-up after a connection has been accepted earlier in the sequence
