You connect once for the whole organization, then choose exactly which folders and files assistants may read.
Everything else stays private.
Supported providers
These are the document-storage providers available in the CSM connect picker:- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- Box
What it unlocks
- Tactics assistant: with Use connected documents on (default when a drive is connected), your personal assistant can search and read the folders you granted.
- Email agents: turn on Use connected documents per inbox under Context Sources so drafts can pull facts from those same folders.
- Living files: grant a folder once; files added to it later are included automatically after the next sync.
- Fail-closed access: assistants only see files you explicitly grant (or that sit under a granted folder). Ungranted files are invisible.
Before you start
Connect OneDrive (or another provider)
1
Open the CSM tab
In Emanate, go to Integrations, then open the CSM tab.
2
Connect document storage
Choose Connect, then pick OneDrive (or Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, or Box). Sign in with the
Microsoft or Google account that owns the files and approve access.
3
Wait for the index (if needed)
Emanate starts indexing your drive. You may see Still indexing while folders appear. You can grant access
as soon as the folder you need shows up; you do not have to wait for the entire drive.
4
Choose document access
The Document access picker opens automatically after a successful connect. Select the folders and files
assistants should read, then save.Granting a folder covers files added to it later. Granting a single file covers only that file.
5
Confirm it's connected
Back on the CSM tab, the connection shows as Connected. Use the row menu anytime to Manage document access,
Sync now, or Disconnect.
Turn it on for assistants
Connecting the drive alone does not push documents into every draft. Enable reading where you want it:Tactics assistant
- Open Tactics → your assistant settings → Context.
- Turn on Use connected documents.
- If the switch is unavailable, connect Google Drive or OneDrive under Integrations → CSM first.
Email inbox agents
- Open the inbox settings for the mailbox that should use cloud docs.
- Under Context Sources, turn on Use connected documents.
- This is off by default per inbox, so each mailbox opts in.
Managing access later
Privacy and access rules
- Only granted folders and files are readable by assistants.
- A file under a granted folder is included; a file outside every grant is not.
- Drive roots themselves are not grantable as a single checkbox. Pick the folders (or files) you intend to share.
- “Not found” and “not granted” look the same to the assistant, so unshared material cannot be probed by name.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the CSM tab

Confirm you’re in Integrations (Resources in the sidebar) and that your role can manage integrations.
If the tab is still missing, contact support@emanate.ai.
OneDrive connect fails or loops
OneDrive connect fails or loops
Use an account that can open the target folders in the OneDrive / SharePoint web UI. Corporate SSO may require
an admin to approve Emanate the first time. Try another browser session or an incognito window, then reconnect.
The folder I need isn't listed yet

Indexing can take a few minutes on large drives. Leave Document access open or reopen Manage document
access later. Use Sync now from the CSM row menu if the folder exists in OneDrive but still doesn’t appear.
The assistant can't see a file I know is there

Check Manage document access: the file (or a parent folder) must be checked and saved. Then confirm
Use connected documents is on for that Tactics assistant or inbox. Newly added files under a granted
folder appear after the next sync.
