# Ray

> Emanate's built-in AI assistant, on hand wherever you draft, answer, or quote

**Ray** is Emanate's built-in AI assistant. Wherever the product helps you draft a reply, price a quote, or answer a question, Ray is the assistant doing the work, and you can talk to it directly to steer the result.

You'll see Ray surfaced in context throughout Emanate. The clearest example is "Quote with Ray" on the Quotes tab, but Ray is there anywhere AI drafts or answers on your behalf.

## Where you'll find Ray

Ray shows up right next to the work it's helping with, not in a separate chat window off to the side:

* **Quoting:** on the [Quotes](/demand/quotes) tab, "Quote with Ray" helps you build and refine a quote from an incoming RFQ.
* **Email:** wherever a reply is drafted for you in [Demand](/demand/overview), Ray is the assistant behind it, and you can ask it to revise.
* **Everyday work:** anywhere you see AI drafting or answering, that's Ray.

## What you can ask Ray

Ray is most useful for the small, specific asks that come up while you work:

* **Pull pricing** for a part or line item.
* **Check a spec** against your catalog.
* **Draft a customer-facing note** in your voice.
* **Confirm a detail** before you send or submit.

Ask in plain language, right alongside whatever you're working on.

## What Ray knows

Ray's answers are grounded in your own business, not generic guesswork:

* **[Business DNA](/business-dna/overview)** gives Ray your brand, tone, and how you write, so drafts sound like you.
* **[Knowledge Base](/knowledge-base/overview)** gives Ray your catalogs, spec sheets, pricing, and FAQs to draw on.
* **Your accounts and history** let Ray tailor answers to the customer in front of you.
