# Microsoft Teams

> A daily digest of your team's commercial activity, posted right in your Teams channel

Emanate posts a digest of your team's commercial activity into the Microsoft Teams channel you choose.
One posts automatically each morning there's new activity, and you can ask for one anytime by typing
`digest`. Your commercial team sees what moved without anyone having to sit in an inbox.

## What's in a digest

Each digest opens with a set of counts summarizing your workspace's recent activity. Below the numbers, a
highlights section shows who that activity came from: the contact, their company, and a short preview of
what they said. On a day with nothing new, the digest says you're all caught up rather than staying
silent.

The morning digest posts automatically at 8:00 AM US Eastern on days with new activity. Typing `digest`
in the channel gets you the same card on demand, covering the last seven days.

## Before you start

| Permission to add apps in Teams                  | Depending on your organization's settings, a Teams administrator may need to install it the first time. |
| At least one connected inbox or LinkedIn account | The activity in your digest comes from the mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts you've connected in Emanate. |

## Set it up

  <Step title="Add Emanate to your channel">
    In Microsoft Teams, add the Emanate app to the team and channel you want your digest in. The app posts a
    welcome message explaining what it does and how to connect it.

  <Step title="Get your connection code">
    In Emanate, go to Integrations, open the Communication tab, and choose Connect Microsoft Teams. You'll get
    a one-time code that's good for 30 minutes.

  <Step title="Paste the code into the channel">
    Back in Teams, send the code to the Emanate app in that channel. Start the message with `@Emanate` so the
    app sees it. The connection turns active and binds to that channel.

  <Step title="Try it">
    Type `@Emanate digest` and your first digest posts right away. From now on one also arrives automatically
    each morning there's new activity.

## Talking to the app

In a channel, the app only sees messages that mention it, so begin with `@Emanate`. It answers these:

`hi` and `hello` work too, and anything else it doesn't recognize gets the help reply rather than silence.

## Where AI is used

Emanate uses AI inside the Emanate web application, not inside this Teams app. Emanate's AI reads your
connected mailbox to sort incoming messages, decide which replies deserve a person's attention, and draft
suggested replies for a person to review.

This Teams app posts digests of that activity. The counts and previews in a digest come straight from what
your customers actually did and wrote, not from AI-generated text. AI-drafted replies are always shown to a
person for review and are never sent automatically.

## Reporting AI content or a problem

If you come across AI-generated content you find objectionable, or anything looks wrong, tell us either way:

* Say `report` to the app in Teams and describe what you saw. It opens a short form, and nothing else needs
  to happen on your side.
* Or email [support@emanate.ai](mailto:support@emanate.ai).

We investigate and respond within two business days.

## What this app doesn't do

* It works in team channels only. One-to-one chat and meetings aren't supported.
* It posts activity digests and handles setup commands. It doesn't read or reply to your channel
  conversations.
* It only covers the mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts you've connected in Emanate.

## Turning it off

Disconnect from the Communication tab in Emanate, or remove the app from the team in Teams. Either one stops
the digests. Removing the app from the team also ends the connection, so you'll need a fresh code to set it
up again.

## Troubleshooting

    channel again.

    In a channel the app only sees messages that mention it. Start your message with `@Emanate`. If the app
    doesn't appear when you type the mention, it hasn't been added to that team yet.

  <Accordion title="No digest arrived this morning">
    The morning digest only posts on days with new activity, so a quiet day is normal. Type `@Emanate digest`
    to check on demand: if the card posts, the connection is fine. Also check that the mailboxes and LinkedIn
    accounts you expect activity from are connected in Emanate.

  <Accordion title="The digest posts to the wrong channel">
    The digest goes to the channel you connected. Disconnect from the Communication tab in Emanate, then
    reconnect with a fresh code pasted in the channel you want.

    The digest covers the mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts connected in Emanate. If a rep's inbox isn't
    connected, their activity won't appear. Check Integrations in Emanate to see what's connected.
